Nokia 6500 Classic Review - Phone Review Nokia 6500 Classic Review

22 January 2008
Reviewed by Tom Rucinski

In Summary  2.86/5.0 (average total of all stars combined)

While looking at the results of this review, the 6500 Classic doesn’t look very promising. However, during my short period with the device I took a real liking to it as it didn’t have a hundred different options to choose from scattered all over the phone. It just performed the basics and done them reasonably well. It was actually a joy to use because even though it was sluggish, the Symbian S40 user interface made getting to functions that I wanted to use quick and most of the information required was displayed on the active standby screen.

While most of the features are a little leaner than other higher end models, the little 6500 Classic still boasts 2.0 inch 16 million colour 320x240 screen, 2.0 megapixel digital camera, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and a whooping 1GB of internal memory. But enough of the features, what the most important thing about the 6500 Classic is that it is small and so thin! It slips gracefully in your pocket and doesn’t stick out like most other phones, but despite the small size it has just enough weight for you to feel that its there. And the slick styling also adds to the phones charm with the anodized aluminium exterior.

There is a lot more that one could add to this handset however, these are things that Nokia’s engineers with no doubt are looking into for the next model of this phone. However, if your looking for a handset that does the basics well and isn’t the size of a brick than this may be the phone for you.
