Panasonic have made an amazing comeback in the mobile phone market with the MX6 clamshell. They’ve incorporated advanced technology in a handset that isn’t too large, designed a user interface that is fast and intuitive and preinstalled Sonic the Hedgehog, one of the best platform games in console gaming history. I hope Panasonic continue making handsets this way, as for the first time in more than a year can I gladly say that Panasonic have got it right.
All we need now is for Panasonic to make a similar phone with 3G and memory card support, and maybe a few other things too. It shouldn’t be too hard as they just released a phone for NTT DoCoMo in Japan, called the P902i, with those features as well as many from the MX6 too, in an almost identical design. But so far, Panasonic have done very well.
The MX6 is now available from most phone retailers for $559 or thereabouts.
