Siemens have struck it good with the looks of their new tri-band CF62 handset. This new trendy fashion addition has many standard features that any colour phone should, plus many more. This new siemens clamshell features dual screens, the internal screen boasts 65,536 glorious colours, which are finely complimented with the jiving 16 chord polyphonic ringtones.
This CF62 physical size is very small (when closed), measuring in at 82 x 45 x 22 mm, which is the average size for a clamshell. The phone weighs in at a pocket friendly 85 grams and has a new aerial design that is an arch, at the top of the phone; very stylish indeed, there is also an external screen that allows users to see who is calling before opening up the phone to receive the call. The CF62 has a 600mAh Li-Ion battery that provides it with enough juice for a maximum of 9 days standby or a quite respectable 5 hours talk time.
The phone features a rich selection of messaging types including MMS, SMS, EMS, but left out the ability of send & receive POP3 or SMTP email. This phone has great multimedia messaging capabilities, well, it is a pity that it doesn’t include an integrated camera, the quick pick camera with a flash is available, however it is no where near as trendy as an internal camera. =)
The phone supports Java (MIDP 1.0) games and java application support, which makes it customisable for who you are & what you do. It also turns this humble phone into a wild gaming device, especially with the 65k colour screen! The CF62 has downloadable wallpapers and polyphonic ringtones too!
The CF62 features GPRS with a WAP 1.2.1 browser with parts of WAP 2.0 included. The phone doses not have infrared or bluetooth, which means no support for wireless data transfer or synchronization. Siemens do sell data cables, one of the many accessories available; some of the others include two different car kits, and an innovative new headset.
The Siemens CF62 is sure to turn a fashion conscious head soon, look out for this sleek clamshell in the second quarter of 2004.
