Samsung SGH-X410

Samsung SGH-X410

17 April 2003
Written by Kinny Cheng

Figuring that Bluetooth has finally made some ground in the mobile market, Samsung has shown off their first model to support this wireless standard at CeBIT 2003 with style - where, at the same time, announcing several new Bluetooth accessories.

But it’s the phone that we’re interested in, right?

The SGH-X410 is a tri-band model which will come built-in with the open wireless standard for mobile devices and accessories. It will allow the X410 to connect up with another Bluetooth-compliant device or accessory, such as a PC or headset, at up to a range of ten metres.

A blue colour will be used for its outer casing, which somewhat differentiates the X410 from other Samsung models. The phone will come with a 65,535-colour TFT screen on the inside, high-speed data access via GPRS, Java application compatibility, polyphonic ringing tones, and basic organiser features. A camera, however, won’t be a part of the X410.

Release of the X410 is expected during June/July in Europe, with other markets possibly to follow.
